JFE Material has been engaged in metal smelting and refining with electric furnaces since its inception in 1917. Using its own technology developed over this long history, the company has succeeded in pioneering the unprecedented world of 2000°C in its operations, manufacturing high-purity metallic chrome and special low-carbon ferrochrome for superalloys for aircraft jet engines and gas turbines for power generation.
These products are highly acclaimed both within Japan and overseas, for their superior quality, and have achieved a firm position in the international marketplace.
JFE Material is also engaged in the development of technology for environmentally friendly electric furnace refining, and as such is contributing to recycling of a variety of industrial wastes and the creation of an optimum global environment. With our core of electric furnace refining technology, we are also actively involved in a wide range of new fields, as we continue to work to maintain our unique position in the industry.
